Sales Policy
All kids will be disbudded unless otherwise requested by a buyer who has paid in full. If applicable and kids are old enough prior to leaving, they will be started on coccidiosis prevention, receive their CD/T vaccinations, BoSe, and copper bolus, have first hoof trimming, and be tattooed (and also be wethered if sold as a non-breeding male).
All kids sold with registration will be DNA typed beginning in 2023. Prices include the cost of registration/transfer/DNA typing.
Pet wethers are available starting at $100 depending on age when picked up! (If picked up soon after birth, price is less vs. at several months old.) If you want your kids to have horns, please let us know as early as possible as we disbud in the first week of life. For an animals to be left with horns, the purchase price must be paid in full before one week old and is non-refundable. Horned kids must be picked up by 2 weeks of age. Bottle kids must also be picked up by 2 weeks of age barring previous arrangements made. We also need to know in advance if you want a bottle kid (must be picked up within a reasonable time frame) as we mostly dam raise. Package deals available including for wethers sold as companions to another of our animals.
We will evaluate the dam’s FF udder prior to allowing a buckling to be sold registered.
We cannot guarantee udders on doe kids - mature animals in milk are the only way to buy proven potential. We do sell milkers almost every year so if you’re interested in getting on our list please contact us.
We also cannot guarantee that the genetics of our animals will blend with your breeding program.
There is no such thing as a perfect animal, but we will not knowingly sell any animal with serious defects or health issues. Any conformational, behavioral, productive, or reproductive issues we are aware of in the animal will be made known to the buyer - all animals will be sold with full disclosure and we will not knowingly sell an animal with serious health or temperamental issues.
While our herd is screened for diseases including CAE annually and we do our best to sell animals only in prime condition, due to management differences or exposures after they leave here we also cannot guarantee animals after they leave our farm. We do not recommend breeding doelings under 7 months old and 90 pounds and cannot be responsible for stunted growth due to this practice. It is up to the buyer to manage purchased animals to their full potential.
We do offer lifetime breeder support (i.e. if we don’t know the answer, we will research and/or point you in the right direction)!
Plans and pricing on our breeding chart are tentative and subject to change without notice. Without a deposit, price may increase after I have evaluated kids and their dam in milk or if the dam earns an award; however, prices of kids reserved before birth will remain the same. All kids born can be parentage verified, as all bucks used are DNA typed before kidding season and does bred are generally DNA typed before they kid. Unless otherwise stated, DNA typing of kids will be at the buyer’s expense. Prices may vary depending on several factors, but generally doe kids out of first fresheners start at $425, doe kids out of second+ fresheners with LA and/or DHI data start at $500 with buck kids starting at $400 from those does, and grand champion legs, EX final scores, ELITE status, SG, etc. adding some additional value. Kids picked up on the bottle by two weeks old will probably be offered at a lower price than those raised until weaning or later.
Costs associated with shipping and transportation are the responsibility of the buyer, including any extra disease testing (beyond what we test for) if needed/desired for purchase. Costs associated with registration and transfer are generally the responsibility of the buyer for kids with purchase price less than $500, unless other arrangements have been made prior.
We reserve the right to retain any kids we desire to use in our breeding program after birth; however we can only keep a limited number of kids each year so most of these will still be available.
A $100 non refundable deposit is required to reserve a buck kid or $50 for a wether prior to birth. This deposit counts toward the total cost of the animal. You must maintain communication with us and pick up the kid(s) within a reasonable time period unless prior arrangements have been made or you will forfeit your deposit. We will notify you when your desired kid(s) become available. A change of mind on the buyer’s end will forfeit the deposit; however, if your choice of kid(s) are not born, if we decide to retain the kid for ourselves, or if we feel the kid does not meet our quality standards, you will have the choice of having the deposit refunded or transferred to another available kid or year. Quoted prices are for pre-born kids and are subject to change if kids have been born and no deposit was placed. We only have an interest list for doe kids as our herd is very small.
If you want me to hold any live animal we have offered for sale, you must send a non-refundable deposit of half of the price of the animal. This deposit counts toward the total cost of the animal.
We do give preference to homes that participate in DHI and/or LA - a home that shows is also a welcome bonus! Good homes are a must and we do our best to screen potential buyers, so please do not be offended if we ask management questions.
I would love for my all of animals to go to great homes and do my best to find the right placement for them. I also love getting updates!
